Three Springfield Students Earn NJSGA Scholarships

NJSGA Caddie Scholars receive a minimum award of $3,500 per year for all incoming freshmen and new in-college recipients.

Springfield students Christopher Ballard, Daniel Glick and Kevin Kirk have been selected as recipients of New Jersey State Golf Association Caddie Scholarships. 

Ballard, who will attend Morehouse College, and Kirk, who will attend Yale University, caddie at Baltusrol Gof Club in Springfield. Glick, headed to Palm Beach State, caddies at Plainfield Country Club.

NJSGA Caddie Scholars receive a minimum award of $3,500 per year for all incoming freshmen and new in-college recipients, according to the NJSGA. Last year, all existing scholarships were increased by $500 for the upcoming academic year, representing a continuance of the Foundation’s long-range goal to keep up with increasing tuition costs.

Since its inception in 1947, the Foundation has contributed over $9 million to nearly 2,500 caddie scholars. Scholarships are funded through individual member contributions at the NJSGA’s member clubs that sponsor caddie programs. 

Applicants must have caddied at least two golfing seasons, document financial need, and demonstrate an academic record consistent with college requirements, according to the NJSGA.
