Springfield Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Township employees asked to wear pink on each Friday this month and wear Celebrate Life early detection pins.

The following was submitted by the Township of Springfield: 

The Township of Springfield employees proudly support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Madison Health Department sponsored the awareness of Breast Cancer, in cooperation with the Springfield Fire Department, and is asking all Township employees to wear their pink T-shirts on each of the four Fridays in October (4, 11, 18, and 25) as well as wearing their Celebrate Life early detections pins.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.  Please show your support by wearing pink this month.
