Springfielders Brave the Cold for Annual Tree Lighting

Families enjoyed food, hot chocolate and the wonder of the season.

Spirits were merry and bright despite low temperatures as Springfield celebrated its annual tree lighting and holiday spectacular Wednesday evening.

Families had a chance to visit with one another while enjoying tasty treats donated by local vendors: Delightful Cake Kreations, Panera, McLynn’s, Pizza Rustica, Five Guys Burger and Fries, Evergreen Deli, and Thai Marin.

A holiday hayride, petting zoo and the opportunity to create an edible craft made the time pass quickly for children eagerly awaiting Santa's arrival.

The Springfield Recreation Department expressed its gratitude to the following organizations, whose donations contributed to the event's success: Township Committee, Public Works, Police Department, Fire Department, First Aid Squad, FMBA Local #57, Emergency Management, Rotary Club, JMK BMW, Autoland, Mack Camera, Springfield Business Improvement District, Springfield Municipal Alliance, Chamber of Commerce and more.
