Sales of Edible Thanksgivukkah Menorahs Benefit Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael's School

Thanksgivukkah Menorah is an edible, kosher, pareve, gluten free, nut-free and dairy free treat that is lit on the second night of Chanukkah, this year on Thanksgiving, November 28th.

The following was submitted by Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael:

Thanksgivukkah is a once in a lifetime celebration that only comes once every 70,000 years.

To commemorate this historic festive overlap, Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael is selling Thanksgivukkah menorahs to benefit the Early Childhood Program and Religious School.

The Thanksgivukkah menorah is an edible, kosher, pareve, gluten free, nut-free and dairy free treat that is lit on the second night of Chanukkah, this year on Thanksgiving, November 28th.

Rabbi Mark Mallach of TBAY provides kosher certification of the creation, which is produced by Delightful Cake Kreations, a new kosher custom bakery in town.

Lexi Links, a New York City-area based toy designer and TBAY member, created this project to commemorate this rare hybrid holiday.

Lexi is donating Thanksgivukkah menorahs to patients in area hospitals and nursing homes. She came up with the project to honor her late grandparents, Sam & Doris Edelman, who were also TBAY members and Springfield residents.

Sam Edelman was a baker and she knew he would have loved creating a Thanksgivukkah menorah. His passing on Thanksgiving 2010 put a damper on the holiday, and his granddaughter knows giving this treat to others who are not feeling well this holiday would make her grandparents happy and add some joy to the season.

She contracted Delightful Cake Kreations to produce the treats because she is happy to see a new business succeed in her hometown.

Lexi created a Facebook page THANKSGIVUKKAH MENORAH and asks everyone to post a picture of them and their family celebrating with the Thanksgivukkah menorah before they gobble it up.

Thanksgivukkah menorahs can be ordrered by sending a check for $18 to Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael, Thanksgivukkah Menorah, 60 Temple Drive, Springfield, N. J. 07081 or emailing kelly@tbaynj.org before November 21st.

Once orders are placed through TBAY and paid for, the menorahs can be picked up on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday November 25,26 & 27 at Delightful Cake Kreations at 247 Morris Ave. Springfield.

For further information, please contact Kelly, TBAY 973.376-0539, ext 18.
