Police: Overturned Auto Hits Utility Pole, Knocks Out Power

No one was hurt in the Thursday one-car accident near Main Street and Edison Place.

Springfield Police report a single-car accident late Thursday morning caused a brief power outage in the area.

A vehicle in the area of Main Street and Edison Place knocked down a utility pole and flipped over at about 11:45 a.m. The pole snapped and cut off power to "a couple of buildings," police said.

Police said the driver was not injured in the incident.

Jersey Central Power and Light crews were dispatched to the site to restore power, police said.

Police could not say what caused the accident, but said charges were unlikely.
