SPRINGFIELD FIRE DEPARTMENT PART TIME=HUGE TAX SAVINGS

Quantifiable data and comparison-Springfield 15K pop, Kenilworth FD smaller population, busier Fire Dept. Scotch Plains, 23K pop, N.Plainfield, 21K pop, Fort Lee 35K pop, New Providence, similar in size and demographic (12K pop)...All of the aforementioned towns are covered by Volunteer FD's, perform the same state required duties (ie inspections for code violations and building safety, Fire and EMS response, etc) on an all volunteer basis. In Springfield there are no abandoned buildings or ghettos. There are very few actual working fires per year here. Their workload does not justify the millions per year in taxpayer burden. PART TIME eliminates any increase in response times and will save greater than 2 million in taxpayer burden. Does anyone in Springfield enjoy paying close to 10K or more every year in property taxes? I dont.
