Ambitious Springfield Girl Starts Own Company

Young entrepeneur is designing and selling her own t-shirts.

Springfield meet your latest small business owner. She’s a fashion lover operating a business from her home. A lover of popular culture using her savvy to jump on trend, she hopes to inspire her fellow entrepreneurs to follow in her footsteps.

And her footsteps might be smaller then you’d expect; she’s eight years old.

Jaelyn, better known as Poodah developed a creative t-shirt line for girls and wants to grow her company to the point that she will need to hire a lot of employees.

Inspired by the hit shows, iCarly and Shark Tank, Jaelyn decided to sell her design ideas to her fellow girls.  But she doesn't just want other girls as her customers, she wants them as her fellow entrepeneurs.

“Other kids can start companies too, so that we can all create more jobs,” Jaelyn said in an email.

Jaelyn has been working since spring to complete her first product samples and perfect her customer service and employment practices.
