Springfield Chamber And Other Business Groups Plan Regional Networking Event

The Big Event will draw business owners from Springfield, Scotch Plains, Fanwood and Westfield.

The Mattress Factory will be teeming with local business owners on Feb. 17, when the Fanwood store hosts a night of networking.

The event, co-organized by the newly-founded Springfield Patriot Chamber of Commerce, is called "The Big Event" and is expected to attract hundreds of participants. The SPC joined business groups from Fanwood, Scotch Plains and Springfield in holding the event. Neil Pinkman, the Westfield chamber's executive director, said the involving the different chambers will gather participants from throughout the region.

"Between the four groups there are over 500 members," Pinkman said. "If we can continue networking together, it is good for business."

The Mattress Factory, which is located at 35 South Avenue in Fanwood, is sponsoring the event. Members of the chamber and the companion groups are free to attend. Non-members will need to pay $10. The event will occur from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"It will be an opportunity to be a very tremendous networking event to make those new connections," Pinkman said.
