Uncle Louie G Celebrates Grand Opening Saturday in Westfield

Uncle Louie G. is celebrating the start of summer with a grand opening and a tasty giveaway. 

Westfield's latest frozen treat shop has opened on Elm Street and if offering the community an opportunity to sample its wares for free. Customers will receive a complimentary regular size Italian ice from 12 to 2 p.m. Children can enjoy free balloons and popcorn and have their photo taken with Uncle Louie G from the shop's noon opening until 10 p.m. 

Owner Eric Rivera is excited to share the Italian ices he's been a fan of for many years with the residents of Westfield. Rivera, who hails from Staten Island, the home of Uncle Louie G. headquarters and warehouse, said he'd visited Westfield many times with his wife and three children and while he'd noticed many frozen yogurt shops, he hadn't seen any Italian ices offered. 

"I love the town, " said Rivera, who is looking forward to meeting his new clientele on Saturday.
