From now until May 29, Springfield's branch of AAA is collecting items that will be distributed to American soldiers serving active duty.
Sought items include toiletries, snacks, journal books, games, playing cards and sunglasses. The donations will be distributed to the troops by statewide soldiers advocacy group Operation Jersey Cares.
AAA's business hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. A complete list of needed items can be found at AAA.com.
