Last-Minute Summer Camp Options

Camps begin Monday.

If you haven't had time to sign up for camps, there are still spaces available for both the outdoor playground camp at the Chisholm Community Center and the Springfield Community Pool camp.

The supervised camp at the Chisholm Center is available for boys and girls age 3 through 13, (children must be potty-trained). Activities include games, crafts, athletics, special events and trips to the pool, parties, sports tournaments, and much more! While snacks are included in the camp fees, parents must provide children with a drink.

The camp begins Monday, June 24 and can be attended on a weekly basis. It runs daily from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. through Aug. 16. There will be no camp on July 4th. For more information, view the attached pdf document.

The Springfield Pool Summer Camp is available to children entering Pre-K and/or the age of 4 by December 1, 2012 through the age of 13 and/or entering grade 8. It runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Before- and after-care is offered to all children for additional fees.

Children in pre-K through fourth grade will be in the “Club Mates” program in which each child will earn certificates as they participate in weekly age-appropriate activities including swimming, sports and games, crafts, group play, music, exercise, nature, fitness and more.

The 'Survivor' program is designed for children entering fifth through eighth grades, who will participate in athletic and mind-stimulating challenges. The camp encourages friendly competition and teaches the value of good sportsmanship, according to the recreation department's website. 'Survivors' will also be involved in arts and crafts, sports, swimming, fitness and more.
