Rabbi Mark Mallach To Stay On At Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael

Rabbi Mark Mallach has been with the Temple since 1999.

The Board of Directors of the Springfield-based Conservative temple Beth Ahm Yisrael have renewed and extended the contract of the temple's spiritual leader, Rabbi Mark Mallach.

Mallach joined Beth Ahm Yisrael in 1999. He serves as the Chairman of the Jewish Federation of Metro West's Joint Chaplaincy Committee and is the Vice President of the New Jersey Region of the Rabbinical Assembly where he oversees outreach to interfaith relationships.

"It is with great pleasure to be able to present a new contract on behalf of the Board of Directors at Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael to Rabbi Mallach to preserve his leadership over our temple," Temple President David Glass said in a press release. "Rabbi Mark has embraced our temple family from the preschool parents to life long Hazak members providing them with spiritual guidance, education and outreach throughout life cycle events."

Prior to joining Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael Rabbi Mallach served as the Senior Rabbi for Temple Beth El in West Palm Beach, FL and was the Assistant Rabbi of Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston, NJ, from 1994 through 1997.  Rabbi Mallach is a graduate of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America where he garnered academic prizes of excellence in the area of Talmud Study and Homiletics.  Before becoming a Rabbi, Mallach graduated from the University of Maryland's School of Pharmacy, and is the first registered Pharmacist to be ordained as a Conservative Rabbi by the Seminary.

Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael was founded in 1951. Today, over 450 individuals and families from Union, Essex, Somerset and Middlesex Counties worship there.  The temple is affiliated with the United Synagogues of Conservative Judaism, and is dedicated to "enrich the lives of congregants by providing an inviting environment for spiritual, educational and social interaction."
