, Springfield's have lost their ability to enforce traffic violations. On Tuesday, June 19, the New Jersey Department of Transportation announced it was suspended ticketing from red-light cameras in 21 of 25 municipalities it approved to use the technology, including Springfield.

was among 10 Army Reserve Officer Training Corps comissionees joining the ranks of the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant at the recent commissioning ceremony at Seton Hall University. 

Holding with tradition, the 10 comissionees rendered their first salutes as officers to an enlisted member and presented them with a silver dollar, distinguishing their newly earned rank as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army. 

On Thursday, June 15, Sarah David’s Seventh grade class at had a special Flag Day visitor: . Gaudineer student Megan Hogge sent the Lance a letter asking the Congressman about the issue of bullying. Lance thanked Hogge for her letter and talked about his involvement with bullying through the “it gets better” program. During his visit, Lance told the students how his interest in American History led to his desire to enter public service.
