Mayor Keffer Provides Friday Morning Update on Power Restoration

Most homes are reported to again have power; some damages may require private electricians.

JCP&L reports over 88 percent of customers who lost power have been restored. As of this morning, about 217 customers remain without power.

A new item has come up. If there is damage to your home electric connection from the storm, you will need to have the home electric repaired privately before JCP&L can restore power to your home. So if a branch pulled the wires off your house, please call an electrician immediately for repair.

JCP&L does anticipate that the remaining homes will "mostly" be completed by the end of the day and some will require work into the weekend. We have not received an updated list showing estimated time of restoration. We continue to request it.

I have spoken personally with the President of JCP&L regarding one residence in town on the critical care list. He promised to address this issue on an individual basis. DPW crews will continue to remove debris from the effected areas today, so please be careful and drive slowly.
