Mayor Keffer Sunday Afternoon Update on Storm

This early storm has literally shut down the town.

Auxiliary Police have set up barricades to the top so that only residents may enter and leave, due to the large number of trees and wires down. 

A major trunk line carrying 100 volts came down yesterday at Mountain Avenue and Shunpike, causing street closures in that area. I continue to speak with the area manager for JCP&L. 

There are four work crews and two tree crews here, with more resources promised. The company, however, continues to adhere to its pre-storm estimate that full restoration won't happen until Wednesday.

All residents are urged to limit driving to what is necessary. Be careful of downed tree limbs and wires. Please check on your neighbors, especially the elderly.   The Summit Area Red Cross has opened a "warming center" in Summit for those with no alternative.
