Hunan Spring tops our readers' poll for best Chinese food in town.

The readers have spoken and has come out on top in our . In a poll that garnered over 70 votes, the Morris Ave. eatery bested its competition by taking over ten percent of the poll. The stats are below.

And we could tie ourselves in knots talking about why Hunan engenders such loyalty. But instead, we thought it would be best to let their loyalists explain why Hunan springs eternal. On restaurant review website yelp.com readers praised the food and ambiance, singling out the Peking Duck and other signature dishes.

“For a bracingly piquant treat, ask for the ‘Crazy Beef,’” Tess T of Millburn writes. “This is a delicious, authentic Sichuan dish for those who like it hot. Melt-in-your-mouth tender slices of beef are combined with flavorful, fresh sauteed vegetables and surrounded in a fiery, savory sauce with a great quantity of red chiles and Sichuan peppercorns.”

“Our sons, now in their late 20's, have dined regularly at HS since they were infants; we've eaten here 300-400 times,” he wrote. “The food is consistently very good, the portions appropriate and the creativity welcoming.”
