Dayton Defeats Newark Collegiate In First Round of State Basketball Tournament

Dayton boys' basketball team now advances to 18-5 and will face Newark Vocational on Thursday.

The 1st seeded Jonathan Dayton Boys' Basketball team entered the first round of the North 2, Group 1 State Tournament Tuesday night, defeating 16th seeded Newark Collegiate, 64-41.

According to The Star-Ledger, Dayton's Elijah Brown notched 18 points during the home game.

In addition, two other Dayton players played key roles in the win over Newark Collegiate — Jaren Clayton (13 points) and Isaiah Rogers (10 points), according to The Star-Ledger.
